The Salem Chamber’s Education Leadership Institute (ELI) is a high-energy, fast-paced institute designed to equip and support regional educators in preparing their students for the world of employment and community service.  It was developed in 1995 by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce.

Participants may apply for three Portland State University graduate credits for their participation.

The Salem Chamber’s ELI classes are designed for up to 24 educators from regional schools. Their experiences include a historical walking tour of Salem’s downtown, dynamic presentations from business, community, and government leaders, tours, networking opportunities and other valuable resources. The final Institute day is spent developing School-to-Work Transition Plans to incorporate into classroom instruction and to share with other staff members.
