Cherryfest NW to Host Fourth of July 2018!

Salem is in for an exciting change for the Fourth of July this year, so you may want to stay in town for the national holiday.

Traditionally managed by the City of Salem, Cherryfest NW (the newly rebranded Bite & Brew of Salem) will be hosting the festivities this year! Cherryfest NW will run from July 4-8, 2018 at Riverfront Park with free admission on the Fourth of July, as well as on Sunday, July 8th.

This partnership is a win/win for both the City and Cherryfest NW, and is an example of two sectors working together to improve a service for the community. Entertainment is the Cherryfest NW event area of expertise, and kicking off the five-day event with a national holiday is sure to attract new attendees to the event.

“I think it is great for the entire city,” said Jason Unruh, President of the Hoopla Association and Event Manager of Cherryfest NW of the partnership. “I am driven to create lifelong, memorable experiences for people. To combine Cherryfest NW with a traditional holiday that is special to many is important to me and the organization. I think we can knock it out of the park this year.”

To respect the City of Salem’s wishes, the first day of Cherryfest NW admission will be free of charge to all participants. The City is paying for the fireworks.

Cherryfest NW is part of the Hoopla Association, a Chamber member, along with Salem Winter Brewfest and Hoopla.
