Salem, OR (May 14, 2018) – Salem’s homeless, four-legged friends have a better chance of finding their forever home thanks to Capitol Subaru. On April 27, representatives from Subaru of America and Capitol Subaru presented a check for $55,000 to the Willamette Humane Society (WHS) as the culmination of their “Share the Love” campaign.
One of the cornerstones of Subaru of America’s mission is supporting causes that are important to it as a company, its retailers, and customers. In the past three years, Capitol Subaru with Subaru of America have raised over $147,000 in donations for WHS.
This year, Capitol Subaru chose the WHS to be the beneficiary once again. Local workers and volunteers showed up with shelter dogs to accept the donation. “They sponsor us all year long,” said B.J. Anderson, Executive Director of WHS. “It makes a huge impact on our operations and our life-saving efforts.”
“This $55,000 check for WHS will allow them to continue their tremendous work of saving animals and sheltering them,” said Diego Montoya, Zone Retailer Development Manager of Subaru America. “I can’t say enough about how proud we are of Capitol Subaru and their efforts.” He added that Capitol Subaru was the only dealership in Oregon to receive the Customer/Community Commitment award which involves not only a commitment within the community but a sincere focus on the customer experience.
Top salesperson, John Mendrin, received special recognition for selling over 25 cars during the campaign. “We are extremely proud of John for his efforts,” said Carrie Casebeer, Marketing Director at Capitol Auto Group. “The team made an amazing effort. We have always been dedicated supporters of animal rescue and are proud to participate in this campaign.”
Since the “Share the Love” campaign began, Subaru has donated over $115,000,000 to 660 national and local charities.
