2026-2027 Forum Speaker Series Begins in September!

On May 11, 2026, the Salem Chamber’s Forum Speaker Series concluded its 2025-2026 season with a presentation by Oregon’s Chief Prosperity Officer, Tim Knopp, who provided an update on the Prosperity Council’s work, along with feedback the Council has received from Oregon business owners.

Comprising 16 members, including prominent Oregon business leaders from different regions of the state, the Prosperity Council is charged with recommending actionable steps to accelerate Oregon’s economy, create good-paying jobs, and recruit and grow Oregon’s businesses.

With the Council set to deliver its final recommendations to the Governor on June 30, 2026, Prosperity Officer Knopp’s presentation provided a preview of what some of those recommendations may be.

In addition, the Forum included the presentation of our monthly Spirit of Salem Award, which went to the Salem Contractors Exchange for its work providing connection opportunities for those in the local construction industry.

Featured speakers cover a wide variety of topics designed to build awareness, foster understanding, and spark conversation in the community. The nine-month series runs from September through June.

The Forum Speaker Series’ purpose is to deliver content, at times through controversial speakers, intended to spark conversation in Salem.
