At our monthly Business Advocacy Meeting on April 3, 2025, the business community received updates on three key community impact areas: the 2025 Legislative Session, the potential drawdown of Detroit Lake, and homelessness and housing in the Salem area.

The Salem Chamber’s contracted lobbyist provided an update on the latest from the Legislative Session and what bills are potentially moving forward, followed by presentations by four community organizations working on homelessness issues in Salem. Marion County Commissioner Kevin Cameron then closed the meeting with an update on the planned drawdown of Detroit Lake and the impact it could have on our water.
