Don Froylan Creamery is a one-of-a-kind establishment. One part cheese factory, one part restaurant, one part local market––all distinct elements which make Don Froylan a special addition to the Salem culinary market.
Upon falling in love with Oregon in the early 1990s, Froylan Ochoa, the original owner and titular “Don” in the company’s name, started his business in an attempt to bring authentic Mexican cheese to the Mid-Willamette Valley. Beginning in Albany, Froylan sold his cheese by going door-to-door, unaware of the popularity his products would soon hold for future generations. After Froylan passed away suddenly in 2000, his son Fransisco took over the family business and has since realized the dream his father instilled in him from an early age.
As we end the official celebration of Latino/a/x history month, the Salem Chamber is proud to highlight a business that understands the dignity of hard work and whose customers are treated with the warmth of family.
Don Froylan Creamery is located at 3310 Portland Rd NE in Salem, Oregon.
