Blake Hendricks has joined the KeyBank agribusiness team in Salem, Ore., where he will assist in offering tailored solutions to meet the specialized needs of agribusiness, from production agriculture to food processing.
“Having Blake join our division reconfirms KeyBank’s commitment to providing credit and banking services to the agricultural community in and around the state of Oregon,” says Jack Martin, vice president and senior relationship manager for KeyBank’s agribusiness team. “We are delighted to bring his analytical expertise to our team of experienced relationship managers, who understand the complex issues facing this diverse sector and focus on full-service, long-term relationships.”
Previously Hendricks served as assistant vice president and portfolio manager for KeyBank’s Native American Financial Services (NAFS) division in Bellevue, Wash., where he offered credit analysis and underwriting support for single-bank and syndicated transactions related to tribal government and economic development entities across the country. Before that, he worked as a credit analyst for KeyBank’s agribusiness underwriting team in Seattle, where he performed credit analysis and underwriting activities for production agriculture and agribusiness clients located in the Willamette Valley, Eastern Washington and Idaho markets. He has also served as president and portfolio manager for the Oregon State Investment Group (OSIG) in Corvallis, where he oversaw the management of the OSU Foundation’s $1.9 million equity portfolio, among other clients.
Hendricks agriculture roots date back to his years as a seasonal farm-hand during grass seed and wheat harvest through high school and college, where he managed combine and chopping crews. “My experience with multiple levels of the agricultural industry – from field to finance – enables me to speak the language and understand the unique needs of our agribusiness clients,” he says.
