Local Businesswoman Featured in National Ad for Budget Blinds
(Salem, OR) Sept. 29, 2018 – Priscilla Glidewell of Budget Blinds of Mid-Willamette Valley and Keizer was excited when she received a call from Home Franchise Concepts (HFC) that she would be featured in a national commercial.
“I didn’t think much about it at the time,” Glidewell said. “I figured they would come out and video me in my living room… but then, someone called to see where they should park the catering truck.”
A team traveled to Oregon from HFC (of which Budget Blinds is a subsidiary) along with its ad agency, a local production company, wardrobe specialist, makeup artist, child actors and, of course, a catering van. This was all to film the commercial for BudgetBlindsCares that would air nationwide in October.
Last year, Priscilla was selected from a pool of 1500 national Budget Blind’s franchisees to receive the “Heart and Home Giveback” award for her philanthropic work, especially with foster children.
Randi Baron, Brand Director at HFC, said that Priscilla’s story got their attention. “We were inspired by Priscilla’s story after she was honored at our national convention in early 2018 and received an award for her philanthropic work in the community. The foster home for children was just one of the many ways that she has given back while balancing a very successful Budget Blinds franchise.”
Glidewell purchased Budget Blinds of Mid-Willamette Valley and Keizer in 2006 and has experienced great success. She was also able to open Noah’s Ark for foster children, serving over 27 children to date. She donates blinds to all Habitat for Humanity Houses. Active in the business community, she is a member of Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce and is an elected Stayton City Council member.
