Educating Salem on the benefits of hemp
Trace Jacobs had arthritis that impacted how he lived his day to day life—until he discovered how cannabidiol (CBD) oil alleviated much of his. What started as a search for relief turned into a passion for hemp farming. Mind and Body Wellness grew out of his partnership with Jerry Norton, another hemp farmer and also Principal CEO of American Hemp Seed Genetics, and Dan Corgan, who has previous experience in the cannabis industry. All three want to educate the Salem community on the benefits and uses of CBD oil, and pass on the knowledge of pain and stress relief CBD can provide to the community through topical application.
Hemp and massage
Mind and Body Wellness is a massage clinic that incorporates CBD into their massages and sells different CBD products in their store, such as tinctures, edibles, drinks, topicals and more. Their massage therapists also have backgrounds in the hemp industry. Additionally, none of their products contain THC. Eventually, the goal for the Mind and Body Wellness team is to produce their own products from Trace and Jerry’s farms.
Mind and Body Wellness opened its doors on June 1, and the business celebrated a grand opening with the Chamber on August 30. To accompany the ribbon cutting, they hosted a promotional event on August 31.
Building a network with Salem businesses
The motivation for the Mind and Body Wellness team to join the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce was to not only increase and strengthen their network with other community businesses, but to add to their credibility as an establishment.
With two of the business owners’ farming hemp themselves, Trace, Jerry, and Dan hope to create a farm-to-massage table system made from their products in Oregon, and one that bolsters the local community.
