As our community celebrates the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. today, we are also taking this time to reflect on his impact. Remarkably, his wise words ring with just as much truth and power today as they did when he lived, but like other great leaders, his actions are what inspired the change and progress he had dreamt of for our nation.
Of America, King once said: “We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.” And here at the Chamber, we know that our community’s diversity is our strength and that our strength grows as we join and support one another. So, we thank you for being in the boat with us and your fellow businesses.
As we look at the year ahead for our community, let not only the words, but the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. inspire you to approach the uncertain with optimism, hope, and care for your neighbors and friends.
