“Setting the Stage”, the first public event to raise funds for construction of the Gerry Frank Rotary Amphitheater soundstage at Riverfront Park is set for February 10, 2018. The dinner and auction will be held at the Salem Convention Center.

“Undertaking a massive project to build this iconic structure will require the involvement of the entire community”, noted event co–chair Tammy Dennee. She reported that members of the Rotary Club of Salem have already either contributed or pledged about $600,000 toward the project that is estimated to cost between $2 million and $3 million.

Dennee said, “After presenting our plan to enhance the availability of live performances at Riverfront Park to thousands in Salem during the past several months, we know there is broad support for this effort. This fundraiser represents a tangible and fun way for the public to make the amphitheater soundstage a reality.”

Dennee said that, while the bulk of the funds raised at the event will go toward the amphitheater project, the Rotary Club will use some of the proceeds to continue its grants to local non–profit organizations. In 2017 the Rotary Club provided $11,000 to community service organizations.

Tickets to the event cost $65 and can be purchased by going to: https://rotaryclubofsalem.ejoinme.org/settingthestage. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
