In an effort to educate Chamber members and the community, the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging candidates running for City Council to participate in its endorsement process. This process includes this written questionnaire and a separate candidate panel, to take place February 9th at the Public Policy Session.

The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce pays close attention to the Salem City Council, which influences local job creation and retention in the area more than any other decision-making body.

Candidates are encouraged to answer the written questionnaire and return responses by 4pm on January 29th. Responses will be shared with members in attendance of the Public Policy Session on February 9th. Candidates are will have the opportunity to address the group and talk about their platform.

Following the Public Policy Session, your answers and a summary of your in person discussion will be forwarded on to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Salem Chamber for consideration during our February deliberations.
