Salem City Club, a biweekly gathering of more than 100 members, will meet May 17 at the Willamette Heritage Center to discuss last year’s contaminated water crisis and the outlook for the 2019 summer.
City staff and consultants will discuss the crisis in detail and describe what has been accomplished in the last ten months to improve water treatment, to prepare for a “toxic event,” and to improve communication with the public.
Heather Dimke, a management analyst for the City of Salem Public Works Department; Lacey Goeres-Priest, the water quality supervisor for the City of Salem; Brian Martin, the city engineer for the City of Salem; and Jude Grounds, Carollo vice president, will present on the topic.
The meeting will take place Friday, May 17, at noon at the Willamette Heritage Center at 1313 Mill Street St. SE. Members are free. Non-members pay $10. All have the option to purchase lunch for $20. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. Register online at SalemCityClub.com.
