Chemeketa Community College Bond Measure M24-513

The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce has historically partnered with Chemeketa Community College because of our shared commitment to workforce development. Supporting this bond renewal measure will ensure expansion of their cutting-edge Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs which are important to our local business community. Passage of this measure would not increase local property taxes, rather, maintain them at the current rate. Our organization has officially endorsed the 2025 Chemeketa Community College bond campaign to assist their efforts in educating our future business leaders and capable workforce.

City of Salem Livability Levy M24-514

The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce has continually invested in our Salem community since 1884. Currently, the City of Salem is facing a budget shortfall of $13.8 million, which threatens essential municipal services. Passage of the City of Salem’s Livability Levy will ensure protection for our police, fire department, and emergency services from immediate budget cuts in the general fund. The City’s levy will create a dedicated fund for City parks, Center 50+, and libraries, while establishing an oversight committee tasked with properly deploying these levy funds for their intended purpose, as noted by voters. The Salem Chamber will continue to partner and engage with the City leadership for ongoing efficiency efforts, to assist City leadership with budget transparency and commitment to impactful prioritization across each annual budget process. Through these strategic efforts, we seek to assist City leadership and employees in trust-building exercises between the City, our local business community, and residents.
