Before embarking on the day, Leadership Salem participants dig in and really get to know those on their team.

Many first steps were taken September 13th at the YWAM Ropes Course, as the 2017 class of Leadership Salem got to know each other on a deeper level through heights and challenges many had never experienced before. The challenges revealed many traits that some of the participants weren’t aware of. One attendee observed “I tend to take the lead, but practiced holding back a bit to give others a chance.”

Leadership Salem has been a program of the Salem Chamber and the Inspire Foundation for over three decades. The intent of the program is to, over a 9 month period of time, help participants come to a deeper understanding of the social and economic fabric of our community. With that understanding, time has proven that graduates of Leadership Salem are well equipped to be business, non-profit and civic leaders at an exceptionally high level.

Those taking part in Leadership Salem are asked to really “dig in” with each other, and the challenges at the ropes course truly accelerate the communication and camaraderie needed to get the most out of time they’ll share together in future sessions.
