Last week (December 11), we hosted a Special Business Advocacy meeting featuring panel discussions on two key upcoming ballot measures.
Our audience had the opportunity to hear from both proponents and opponents of these measures before asking their own questions.
Ballot Measures and Speakers:
Transportation Package Tax Referendum
Representative Ed Diehl (HD17) made his case as to why voters should approve the referendum, while Melissa Unger, Executive Director of SEIU Local 503, provided reasons why voters should not approve the referendum.
Estate Tax Nullification
Representative Kevin Mannix (HD21) presented an argument in favor of removing the estate tax, while Jody Wiser, President and Founder of Tax Fairness Oregon, talked about why removing the estate tax could harm Oregonians and public services.
Thank you to everyone who attended this special meeting in person and online, including our presenters.
