At our monthly Business Advocacy Meeting on August 7, 2025, Salem Chamber Members received several key policy updates at both the local and state levels.

The meeting was highlighted by Salem Fire Chief Dave Gerboth, who provided an overview of his department, including recent developments such as the transition to taking over the City of Salem’s ambulance services.

The meeting’s agenda also included:

  • An update from the Salem Police Department on how it is working with Salem businesses via a new Outreach Program
  • A preview of the upcoming Special Session, in which the Oregon Legislature will address a transportation package
  • A 2025 Legislative Recap from Oregon Business & Industry
  • An update from the Salem Main Street Association on how it is working to improve downtown Salem for residents and visitors
