Salem, OR (April 19, 2019) – For the fifth straight year, proceeds from Capitol Subaru’s Share the Love campaign will help shelter animals find homes. On April 16, they presented a check for $53,978 (which was rounded up to $55,000) to the Willamette Humane Society (WHS).

One of the cornerstones of Subaru of America’s mission is supporting causes that are important to their company, retailers, and customers. In the past five years, Capitol Subaru with Subaru of America have raised over $200,000 in donations for WHS.

“We are so grateful to Capitol Subaru,” said Sherri Partridge, WHS philanthropy officer. “Their donations over the past five years have been life-changing for the cats and dogs waiting to find their forever home. There will be lots of tails wagging around here because of Capitol Subaru’s wonderful support.”

Subaru of America also recognized the dealership’s efforts in the community. Regional Manager, Jim Pernas, presented the dealership with the Community Commitment Award. The award highlights retailers who have embraced the Subaru culture of making the world a better place, while strongly supporting local causes. Only the top 5% of Subaru dealerships in America received the Community Commitment Award.

“We are so happy to be recognized for our work in the community,” said Carrie Casebeer, marketing director at Capitol Auto Group. “It’s a very rewarding feeling to know that through our donation we are helping animals find families.”
