Salem businesses will have a new resource to assist small businesses or sole proprietorships experiencing negative economic impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Salem City Council has authorized $188,000 for distribution to Salem businesses.  Businesses with 1-5 employees may apply for $3000 in grant funds.  Businesses with 6-40 employees may apply for $5000 in grant funds.  25% of funds will be directed to women and minority-owned businesses.  Grant applications open on Monday, June 15 at 12:00pm and conclude on Wednesday, June 17 at 11:59am.  This two-day window for accepting grant applications will result in a lottery system for awarding dollars to qualified applicants.  Any business applying needs to reside within Salem City limits and not have received previous COVID-19 financial assistance.  For additional application information, click here:
