Salem-Keizer Public Schools and Pence Construction will hold an outreach event for local subcontractors on Friday, November 16, 2018. The event will provide local subcontractors an opportunity to meet with representatives from the school district and Pence Construction, the selected Construction Manager/General Contractor for the North Salem High School addition and the McNary High School addition. These projects, valued at $54 million and $39 million, respectively, are among the first projects in the district’s 2018 bond program.

Specifically, subcontractors in the trades of earthwork, utilities, concrete and site concrete, paving, landscaping, masonry, steel fabrication and installation, carpentry, casework and finish carpentry, roofing, windows, doors, drywall and metal stud framing, painting, flooring, specialties and cleaning are invited to attend.

The event will take place from 11 am to 1 pm at the district’s Central Services Center, 3630 State Street in Salem, in the modular conference room located at the West end of the main lot. Interested firms may drop by any time during the event.

In May 2018, the Salem and Keizer communities approved a $619.7 million bond to fund expansions to relieve overcrowding, add career-technical (vocational) education spaces, add or renovate science labs, expand wireless access and more. Twenty-nine schools are planned to receive major capital expansions, with work planned to begin in 2019.
