SALEM AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CEO, DAN CLEM, TO RETIRE

Nick Williams, the current Chief Operating Officer, to succeed Clem

Salem, Ore. – The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce announces that Dan Clem, Chief Executive Officer, will retire July 1 of this year. Nick Williams, currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Chamber, will succeed Clem as the CEO.

“The Salem Chamber appreciates the hard work, dedication, and service Dan contributed to the Chamber and to this community,” Jim Bauer, Chamber Board President stated. “Dan has decided that it is the time in his career for him to retire and the Chamber wishes him and his family all the best.”

Bauer went on to say, “Dan has made major contributions in almost every area the Salem Chamber touches. His energy and effort has generated new support for the business community, and positively improved the lives of many through the great work accomplished by the Inspire Foundation.”

Williams has served the Chamber for almost five years in a variety of key leadership roles. He has been active as an advocate for Salem businesses and brings to the new role a background in finance, sales and marketing.

“We are blessed to have someone of Nick’s experience and professional caliber to take the reins as CEO and are excited at this new chapter in the Chamber’s 132-year history,” Bauer said. “There are many critical issues facing the Salem community in general and our business community in particular, including having a positive atmosphere for business, moving ahead with key transportation and infrastructure improvements, and maintaining a wonderful quality of life for us all to live, run a business, play, and raise a family. We look forward to continuing our service to this community.”
