Priscilla Glidewell of Budget Blinds of the Mid-Willamette Valley Honored with Distinguished Service Award from Stayton Sublimity Chamber
Salem, OR (March 27, 2019) – Priscilla Glidewell of Budget Blinds of the Mid-Willamette Valley received the 2018 Distinguished Service Award from the Stayton Sublimity Chamber of Commerce. The 73rd Annual Awards Celebration was held Feb. 28, at Stayton Foothills Church.
In a letter to Glidewell, President of the Stayton Sublimity Chamber Carmélle Bielenberg wrote her selection was a result of “the passion with which you do everything and the array of projects, organizations, and committees you’ve worked on speaks to a dedication that sets you apart.“
Bielenberg added appreciation for Glidewell’s work as a city councilor, on the Revitalize Downtown Stayton project, for our youth, and as a proponent of their local Chamber; supporting its mission of strengthening the economic vitality and community livability.
Glidewell said, “I’m deeply honored by this award and would like to thank the Chamber and the people of Stayton and Sublimity.” She credits her faith for bringing her to this point in her life. “It is Jesus, who continues to give me strength and health to make a difference in this world.”
She also encourages people to be bold. “Never forget to use the power of your voice to evoke change where it is needed. It may not make you the most popular person in town, but you just might be able to make this world a little bit better…The pages of history have been written by ordinary people who had something extraordinary to say.”
Glidewell has had a successful year, being featured in the national #BudgetBlindsCares ad campaign, which recognized her outstanding philanthropy and commitment to the community.
