Help make a difference in your community by participating in the Salem Heat Watch Campaign.

Community volunteers are being recruited to serve as “street scientists” by collecting temperature and humidity data during an extreme heat event. The information gathered will help identify areas that experience higher temperatures and support future planning efforts aimed at reducing the impacts of extreme heat throughout the Salem area.

Volunteers can participate as either:

  • Driver
  • Navigator

Data collection takes place during designated campaign days and consists of approximately one-hour driving routes throughout the community.

If you’re interested in participating, complete the Volunteer Interest Form using the QR code provided on the flyer or visit the Heat Watch website to learn more.

Your participation helps create a cooler, healthier, and more resilient Salem.
