Wandering Players Theatrics (WPT) has signed a lease for its first permanent home in the former Cinebarre space at Salem Center, marking an exciting milestone for the organization and paving the way for a new multi-venue arts and community center in downtown Salem.
The new space will be much more than a theatre. WPT envisions a creative hub where artists, performers, educators, nonprofits, and community organizations can gather, create, perform, and connect. The facility will host theatre, music, comedy, educational programming, workshops, festivals, and community events, along with a new restaurant and gathering space.
The project represents an exciting new chapter for both Wandering Players Theatrics and downtown Salem, creating more opportunities for creativity, connection, and community.
And the first curtain is already set! Evil Dead The Musical will be the inaugural production in the new space, opening October 23, 2026.
Congratulations to Wandering Players Theatrics on this exciting milestone! We can’t wait to see this new space come to life and add even more arts, entertainment, and energy to downtown Salem.
